i have a pci tv tuner and i wish to convert some of my vhs videos to dvd. Instead of saving the videos to my pc, then burning to dvd, is there any software i can use to burn straight to dvd instead of saving on my pc first?

Nero has an application in it called Nero Vision Express which has a 'record directly to DVD' option. Looks as if you have to use a rewriteable DVD? Haven't used it but looking at it.

thank you. it just so happens that i have nero. i use it quite a lot actually. im suprised i havent noticed it before

I have now tried vision express. You need to use a DVD rewriteable and fully erase it first (this 'formats' it). Nero seems to recognise the TV card but check that the sound input is correct (TV card or line in). There is quite a delay when you start recording as it says it is initialising both devices. Mine started recording ok but then there was a blip and the whole recording was out of synch with the sound. This might be because of the Pinnacle TV card (I've had problems with Pinnacle's own capture software before - I now use Win DVD Recorder). Also, I should have defragged my hard disc first, make sure you do that.

Still thinks it's best to capture to Hard Disc first though.
