I have recently set up wireless on one of my desktops. This works fine. However, I have been trying to now install wireless on my other desktop but cannot do so. I am using a D-Link PCI card and a safecom router for both. When I am logged on to the computer, the wireless goes on and off and stays off for a bit but then tries again and it might go on again for 10 seconds but then go off.

I then proceeded to open up the D-Link Air Utility Program and I found that the wireless connection jumped around from 30%-80% for the signal strenth and link quality. I don't understand what is going on as my computer doesn't move and neither does my router. What is going on? Please could somebody help me. Thanks.

It might have something to do with the frequency settings of your PCI cards.  I had issues with my wireless system that turned out to be the frequency settings and also slight interference from a wireless video sender unit.  Once all PC's and outer were wet up to the same frequency (and video sender to the far end of the scale) then all was OK.
I have also recently had an issue with the wireless video sender causing isues with my wireless internet.  I haven't sorted this yet but turned off the video unit and all is OK.

Thank you very much! I have now fixed the problem and if you need some advice from me Dave-Sandra then I would suggest you unscrew the arial and put it back in again (while it's turned off). See if that works, did the trick for me!

Thanks for the help!
