I bought a new Epsom printer a few months ago. It had ink cartridges with it but I bought a set of compatible inks for when the originals ran out.
I have always used compatibles successfully so am now miffed these ones won't work at all. Just get a message they aren't recognized.
I've read some of the reviews where advice had been given to over come this problem..I couldn't work it out so emailed the company who have agreed to give me a full refund.
Originals are expensive so has anyone advise on how to make compatibles work before I try again please.
I'm not up on the technical jargon so plain simple [like me !!] words if you have.
Many thanks x
You've possibly just been unlucky and got a naff set.
I've had my Epson for years now and have always used compatible cartridges. I think I might have had a few naff cartridges over the years, but seeing as they're so cheap, it really doesn't matter. I'm guessing that over the years, I've had no problems with 95% ish of the cartridges.
Once I buy a set (usually from Ebay), I tend to buy from the same seller again :)
I've got an Epson XP-520 and buy compatibiles from Printerinks, when i put them in the machine a message flashes up "not genuine cartridges, continue?" i press ok and off it goes, been using these for a while now and no problems at all, hope this helps.
I got a refund on the first 2 lots of compatibles, from different suppliers.
I remembered Choice Stationary having done a search and see they had problems with the "chip" for the newer Epsom printers. They have sorted that issue now so I successfully tried those and hey presto they work. I read somewhere not to update if a message requests you too...they will download something to stop the latest compatible....at least that's how I understand it.
