My windows XP taskbar has for some reason doubled in height, and I can't find a way to get it back to just being the height it should be! Hope that make sense. Can anyone help me?

Hi, Move your cursor to the top vertical edge of the task bar it should turn to a double headed arrow, left click/hold and drag up or down to suit.

Works for me

thanks diggerdoo, but i've tried that, as that's what usually works, isn't it? But for some reason there i don't get a double headed arrow...the mouse symbol doesnt change when i hover of it!!
Is it locked? Right-click on the taskbar and choose "Unlock the Taskbar" or similar. You should then be able to resize it as DiggerDoo has suggested.

ok that unlocked it - but when i click on the top of it and drag it down, instead of going back to the right size, it just disappears down to the bottom of the screen!!

If the taskbar isn't lockaed and you've resized it to original height, but is disappearing.

Right click taskbar, click properties and un-check the 'Auto-hide the taskbar' box.

Hope this helps.
