What is the difference between USB2.0 and USB3.0 memory sticks? Can I use either in the same USB port?

USB3 is faster but only if the port is USB3 rated otherwise it will only run at the rating of the port.
Both can use the same ports.
But....

USB 3 in a USB 2 port will only work at USB 2 speeds, so a USB port is best to take advantage of USB 3 speeds.
USB 2 will still only work at USB 2 transfer speeds in a USB 3 port.

Most USB 3 ports and plugs have a blue separator component that can be seen to identify it as USB 3.

On Windows USB 3 is usually called "enhanced" USB in the "Device Manager" listings listings

* so a USB 3 port..
Not all USB 3 sticks are born equal, some are faster than others in read and write, so look around.
some arent much faster than USB 2

I tend to use Sandisk , seem to be decent value for money

That's great, thanks very much.
They were alleged to be 10 times faster than USB2 but you`ll be lucky to get better than 4 times.
