I asked my studets this, and they all said the same thing- don't bother file sharing as it can wreck your computer. Your best bet is to get Napster. It will cost you 79p per song, but that money pays the songwriter, singer, record company etc. It is really sad how much these musicians lose out on due to illegal downloading. Just my view, sorry it's not the answer you want!!
Oo, sorry- just saw that you are after videos!! In which case... No idea..
You can view videos here, don,t think you can download them though ?

There's a small selection of streaming videos on iTunes, but there's a bigger selection on Yahoo music. Still streamed though ( and requires registration ), I doubt there is a legal site you can download them on for free.  Other than that, you could always tape or DVD record the music channels on sky (mono only) or freeview music channels and transfer them to your computer - Not legal unfortunately and no choice - just have to keep taping to get what you want - hopefully. Furthermore, I have also heard that iTunes may in the not too distant future be offering music videos for sale, but they will have to improve the quality of the bonus videos they give away with certain albums if they expect people to pay for them. Not much help now though and not free. Best of luck finding solution.
Snapdharlich:- why did you say recording from Sky would be in mono?

wideboy

I hope you can shed some light on this, but with my tv (and my parents - both bought in the last year or so ) when I watch uk analogue signals - BBC1 to channel 5 then the tv states that the channel is in CDS stereo or otherwise. On Sky - it always states mono - No matter WHAT settings I choose on the TV set. On the Video and DVD player, no problem, just on sky. There are no audio outputs on the sky box. It is a panasonic box, supplied by sky about 2 years ago.

I've just read an article that states - roughly

Nicam is a stereo audio standard used for some analogue terrestrial transmissions and has nothing to do with satellite TV. A satellite receiver is able to provide only mono audio from its RF output(s). However, you can get stereo audio from the Scart and Phono outputs. Most TV sets look for a NICAM signal and will tell you the Sky Scart output is not stereo, even when it is.

For movies and other programmes, this stereo audio

So I must be wrong - I apologise.
