Memo On Computer

In Settings on my android phone and tablets I have a Memos where I can put lists of things to do etc. I can`t find anything like that on my laptop (Windows 8) There is something called sticky notes but I don`t want that as it puts notes all over the desktop. I just want something with a desktop icon that I can click on and use. Does anyone know of something I can download to get this?

I use Maxthon and that has a very handy memo feature.

Windows 8 has Notepad which might suit your needs

You could create a document in 'Word' and save it to your Desktop and rename it 'To Do'

Well, I`ve just installed Notepad and it has installed something called Dregol Cromium which has set itself up as my default browser and doesn`t seem to want to be uninstalled. I wish I hadn`t bothered now.

Notepad was already installed on your computer - it is a Windows 8 app.
