What's the nearest equivalent to msn chat nowadays? It was free, simple, so user friendly and had a place for everyone. It's a shame the paedophiles had to ruin it for the rest of us.

msn has not closed down there chat rooms but alternatively made it so that the chat rooms are more secure
to enter an msn group you need to have an msn passport and sign in
If you copy and paste this in the adress thing you will be at the msn chat group (http://groups.msn.com/)
then at the top right there will be a sign in button to sign in or make an account or if you have one click on the people and groups in the top left.  This will take you to a page of groups you can join.
Click on any that takes your intrest (I go into People)  and then this will take you to a categories list and click on one.  (I click on ages) this will take you to another categorie on how old you are,  clicking on one will take you to the groups list.  click on one that you want to go in and on the left hand side there is writing with arrows pointing toward "Chat room" should look a bit like this (>>Chat Room<<) click and you are there
I told you it was secure and hard work too.
I hope this helps :-)
