I recently purchased a Luna 1220 Triple Binatone telephone / answerphone system. When anyone attempts to leave a voice mail, they hear the constant interruption of a modem dial-up during their recording. ( I don't have dial-up) Spoke to Binatone and they say to change the ADSL filters supplied with my broadband. Done this and still the same. Any thoughts. OG I am relying on you !!

No fax machine methyl. it is not a ' fax ready' tone it is a dial-up internet connection ' chirp'.
I thought dial-up had been phased out now.
From what little I can remember of this, make sure the filters are first to be installed before any other devices, in other words the first attachments coming out of your phone line.

Yup, filters are directly after the incoming phone line socket. Perhaps there are different types of filters I should look at. Binatone are of no help at all !
From what you've just said, have you got a filter plugged into the phone line socket before it is connected to anything else?
Is the answering machine physically near your broadband router?

If so try moving it as far away as possible & play with the relative orientation of the two devices.

SD the answerphone is quite far from the router, and Chrissa yes the filter is in the line before anything else is plugged in, the first thing being the tel / answerphone. Binatone now suggest I deactivate 1571 which they say ' sometimes creates interference' I think they are clutching at straws !!
Have you got Sky and if so is it connected to the phone line?

Do you have more than 1 phone socket? All phone sockets with something attached should have a filter.
