I am thinking of buying a new computer and have seen the spec on one which said............

TV and FM radio tuner card with remote control

What type of programmes would I be able to pick up, also would I have to connect a TV aerial to the computer. Also any info on what radio stations I could receive. Would they be the same ones as on windows media player 10. Thanks in anticipation.

Yes you would need to connect an aerial to it.

The only stations you will pick up are those that you would normally receive on your domestic television and radio.

WM player provides worldwide stations through your internet connection.

If it's an analogue tuner you will get BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4 and CH5 (depending on area) and yes, you need to connect an aerial (through a video recorder gives a better signal and lets you transfer VHS to DVD). Radio stations will be the same as an FM Radio!

You really want a Digital (DVBT) tuner that gets all these plus Freeview and more radio stations. There is even a combined analogue/digital tuner on the market by Twinhan.

Thanks for the replies. I will try and look on the net for the DVBT tuner.

I can recommend the Twinhan DTV Magic Box.

Simple to set-up and can receive all usual BBC/ITV programs also all Freeview ones.
