2 carers came this morning. One said to the other "You shave him I'll do his bum" carer said I can't shave. Okay then I'll shave and you do his bum. No she said I don't do bums. What the F am I paying for.

Rang Doc re chiropodist, as he is not diabetic you have to go private.

Are you still using the same company?

When Mic came out of hospital the local authority took over the care. When they decided he was stable they put him in the hands of an agency. No consultation with me at all. I have complained many times. Last week I told L/A I was not happy and I wanted a change. This is still on goining.
commonplace I am afraid

her job you see is to make the tea and yak -
Hi jeza. She really shouldn't be there then. How does she manage when she's on her own? I think you can only ring the agency and let them know and tell them not to send her again.
I think that's normal for the Chiropodist. It's the same in residential homes anyway.
Everything else ok? Xx
i think it's fair enough that if there are jobs that one prefers thatn the other, they split them up that way. If they both left without doing his bum, that would be different
Surely you can chose which agency to use?
Jazz, I don't know but I'm afraid I'm about to have to learn xx
You can have any agency you like, jeza. You're paying privately anyway.
That's what I thought, Pixie.

Jeza, find another agency and tell the current one you no longer require their services.

L/A didn't tell me this Pixie, they chose without any info given to me. I'm trying to change but it's long and drawn out.
You can choose, even with direct payments. That's the reason they give you the money instead of the care package now. You have free choice.
I'd have told the 'lazy' one to go away politely and send someone who works. Made a written complaint to their employers.
Find one you like first - from friends, or look at reviews online, meet them and see when they can start and just hand your notice into this one. I think you've both put up with more than enough from them xx
don't you just find one who can do what you want then give the other one notice?

Mic wears a conveen. Most carers don't know what it is let alone how to fit one. So self taught me does it. Again I say what the hell am I paying for.
snap
They should already be trained, it's not difficult. I would start looking elsewhere.
get in touch with other carers in your area and get recommendations for different agencies ..
We are always told why they are encouraging people to be able to stay at home instead of hospital or in care homes and how they are trying to make it easier to do so,and yet every day there are instances like this where it is not the case, one still has to fight for the correct treatment and finding reliable competent carers is really difficult, but this sounds shameful, even discussing your husband's treatment within your earshot about who was doing what is unnecessary!Hope you find better carers soon Jeza, rant over!

Am I allowed to tell the L/A to go away I will manage on my own?
