Depending on which version of Windows you have, it is usually called C:\Windows or C:\WinNT. If you have removed it, Windows could not start as it is here that the Windows program 'lives' on your hard drive.
Go to Windows Explorer, found off the programme's scroll bar. Window's Explorer is a directory of all files and programmes found on your system. The Windows Directory should be found here.
If you installed Windows in the custom mode then it may not neccessarily be called windows, i am aware of some people that call it things like "op_system". If you think it's gone from your computer then firstly windows would be unable to boot up using that drive, if u are using a different bootup drive, then do a search for the comonly found files such as notepad.exe or regedit.exe to see if they are still somewhere on your system.
