As the pump/filter system is made for 120v supply you'll need a step down transformer to use it in the UK.
Something like this, from Maplins should fit the bill: http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-230v-to-110v-100w-voltage-converter-rs59p
Surely you mean a step-up. America is 110volts, UK is 220-240 volts.
Step the power output DOWN from 240v to 120v.
Just realised what I wrote! You're right for working American stuff in UK its a step down - for UK stuff in America its step up!

Have you tried somewhere like Maplin?
Maplin actually supply a converter rated at 45W
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-230v-to-110v-45w-voltage-converter-rp90x
but, for continuous operation, the one in G-W's link is probably better.

However, while I love Maplin Electronics (because they employ staff in their stores who actually know about their products and their applications), they're rarely the cheapest supplier. Others, such as this company, should also be considered:

I doubt that you will find anywhere cheaper. :-

Sorry, I have given you the wrong page link. It should be this, which gives free of postage. :-

You must think me a lunatic because the same page keeps coming-up, despite there being another page in Amazon where the same transformer is being offered from 'imustbuy' for £7.40 with free postage. It seems to be you will need to go to the right-hand side of the page for 'More Buying Choices'.

Hans.
The transformer that HansUrbancka is recomending is only 30Va and with a power factor of 0.8 would give an output of only 24 Watts. Totally unsuitable for your application.
For continuous use I'd go for at least an output of 100Va.
