need a new one, can anyone suggest a good one, preferably one that actually does what it says, as mine doesn't, its adequate no more. I am now unable to move well, bend, so anything where i don't have to do it much.
good make, best picker uper, if you know what i mean,
also a good carpet sweeper, same principle, as i just killed the one i have by shaking, and it promptly fell apart.

Get a Ge Tech Ram. Rechargeable, in readily easy to use and carry. Look for the video ad. I think it's brilliant. And because it's cordless... no bending down and messing with plugs and cables. Go for it! And if you are my sort of age ...it's incomparable. Also look it up on John Lewis web site and read the reviews! You won't regret it. Also handle on stem position...

We have a Dyson Ball, a brilliant machine, Carakeel also needed one that was light and easy to handle, very powerful and easy to use.
Question Author
Ratter, i still don't like them, will ponder on the G Ram tech, pricey at around 200 quid.
Question Author
just to say i faffed about with the one i bought, it was cumbersome, awkward, not what i expected, got it all working, switched it on, and it discharged gunk all over the carpet, not sure how that happens with a new! vacuum
Meile Cat and Dog vacuum, emmie - best vac I have ever had, and it's not particularly heavy. For in between, I've got a small Hoover stick machine, the inside unclips so you can use it as a hand machine e.g. for stairs or small spills.
Question Author
looked at their website, seems expensive. however i am going to mull it over, for now this little G Tech sweeper is good enough, i need something that doesn't require too much effort and faffing about,
Agree Meile's not the cheapest, emmie, but I've had mine a good six years now, so value for money in the long run!

i think its better for me to have an upright vacuum, i am not sure i can splash out 200 quid at the moment.
Have you got a Nectar card, emmie? You can use the points at Argos, that would help to bring the price down for the upright Meile at Argos.
Question Author
no nectar card.
Question Author
i would be more than wary of buying and getting delivered anything else from Argos, its been 4 days where orders have not been delivered, phone calls, e mails, nothing. no idea where one order has got to - best option is to cancel.
Wow - that's not my experience at all with Argos. Just looked on line, John Lewis selling them too - they deliver when they say they will, in my experience.
Question Author
if you look at my separate post on this, its been a total nightmare.
i waited in 2 days for both orders, nothing, called them and the delivery people, used the courier tracking system which was bonkers.
have no idea where the second order has gone, but i will likely cancel that.
the vacuum has had to be collected as not fit for purpose.
I waited months for a delivery from Argos, never again, they lied and lied!!
Question Author
i just hope they refund my money, this was a bad on line shopping experience, they said next day delivery, 7-1pm, nothing, then was told that was wrong, any time of the day, still nothing, same following day, then the phone calls, tracking, then nothing, won't be doing this again in a hurry
Which vacuum did you buy and are sending back, em?
Question Author
vax, and its been collected. i won't be doing that again in a hurry, had to phone them again about the second part of the order, this process started monday, poor service all round
Em put BBC2 on, that'll make you feel bette:-)
