Hi all,
Had this problem a couple of years ago, memory gone, so must ask again. I want to play audio tapes into the computer, then send them to people. i used audacity, recorded fine, saved as mp3, but when i try to listen to them or send them onto face book the windows media player has them, and the file size goes from kbs to mbs, as you get all those flowing pictures etc. and facebook can't accept it. what should i be doing??
I tried saving as wav etc, even worse. should i send to a CD, then play it back and send them?
thanks,
annie,

Did you try to listen to them with something other than Windows Media Player ? I don't conceive any reason playing a file should change it. It must have been doing a conversion to some other format. mp3 is fairly compact as it throws away music data it thinks you won't notice. If you have made mp3 try to keep the files that way.

Hi Old geezer,
thanks for the answer. it does have options to open with other media, but its stuff like viewer, wordpad etc, not anything related to music files, i think.

There are other programmes you can download. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=music+player+free+download+recommended&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb&gfe_rd=ctrl&;ei=YWInU8ntIYvR8geu-oHAAw&gws_rd=cr

Sorry I can not be more help, I can not understand why the file size should change at all.
