Can someone in the Answerbank world help a non-computer expert please. I have recently purchased a Kobo Touch e-reader. I have successfully downloaded the Kobo Desktop onto my laptop. I am now trying to download some books from Sainsbury's e-books. I have completed all the necessary registrations including the Adobe Digital Editions App.

However, when I download a book from Sainsbury's e-books it goes into the "Downloads Folder" on my computer and not into the Kobo file. How do I either get the download to go directly into the Kobo file or transfer the download from the "Downloads Folder"? Once in the Kobo file it is a simple matter to transfer the book to the e-reader by means of the Sync symbol. No doubt I would not have this problem if I only bought books from Kobo but the operative word here is 'bought' because, unlike Sainsbury's, Kobo do not offer free books. (Sainsbury's has 1,000).

The problem is probably Windows 8 because whenever I try to open most files it goes into the "Downloads Folder" but there must be a way around this somehow. Help in simple English from a genius out there would be greatly appreciated.

You must ensure that Adobe Digital Editions is open and running before downloading.

When the download is complete double click and it will open in Adobe.
After about an hour of trying I finally managed to get my downloaded Sainsbury's book onto my Kobo touch by dragging it firstly from the downloads folder on my laptop onto the Adobe Digital Editions since it didn't do this automatically. Once I could see it there as an icon in 'bookshelves' I dragged it once again to the Kobo reader + sign on the left hand side of the same 'bookshelves' page. It will then sync with Kobo and appear on the reader even though it still doesn't appear on the Kobo desktop.

Many, many thanks. I haven't tried it yet but I have my fingers crossed. Can I come back to you if I get stuck?

The Adobe Digital Editions says "need the JAWS or NVDA reader on Windows". What is it? Do I really need it? Is it easy!!?

Again, I'm very grateful.
Kobo have a lot of free books, just type "free downloads" into the search.
