Hi All,
I've got a PC at home that I've had for years. It has no internet access.
I've gone on the internet several times and downloaded stuff to my memory stick, and then downloaded it to my old PC.
I think somewhere along the line I've downloaded a virus to it, since I have a few minor problems with it.
Can someone give me a link to some free anti-virus software that I can put on my stick and then install onto my PC, so that I can give it a clean? Everything I've tried requires internet access.
Since you are all stars, and someonr will give me an answer, thanks in advance.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials, along with the free edition of Malwarebytes and give a scan with both.

Here are the links to click onto :-

Thank you very much
The trouble is all anti virus and other security software need access to the internet to download all the latest virus "fixes".

If you just download and install anti virus software like MSE or malwarebytes and don't connect it to the internet to update it with the latest fixes then it will only be searching for "old" viruses and not new ones so may well miss the virus on your computer.
If it is an old PC then it is possible the issues you have are not virus related but due to an inability to give the resources modern programmes require. Or maybe stuff simply reaching end of life. What were these few minor problems ?

Thanks all, especially Alex. The Microsoft anti-virus needs tineternet access, but the other worked like a dream, and cleaned 4 dodgy viruses. My PC is certainly working better.
Thanks again.

Cheers Tubby,,,,,,,Pity that you seem unable to connect your old PC to tinternet, because what has been said by VHG is very relevant.

Anyway, it's good to have had feedback that matters have improved.
^^^^ I meant to say..."What has been said by VHG and Methyl.
