If they're a form of pop-up, the ones that completely freeze the tablet are particularly irritating

I just got on that says....
" the page at ads.yahoo.com says -Mono Market Play Now!"... Then " cancel/OK"

Are you getting that,sloopy?
Question Author
yes, that's one of them pasta
I don't think Ed saw this....its just as bad today...in fact a bit worse. I get an ad for a browser I've never heard of,and when I hit the back button it takes me to the Play Store.
Question Author
bump
Bump... again....
I've never seen them myself. Can you take a screenshot and send it to me?

Are you sure it's from AB and not from something within the browser app?

I'll see what I can find with what you'll told me so far...
Question Author
Ta Ab Editor,

don't know if it's "from" AB, but this is the only place it happens
Do you have other tabs open while you're on AB?

If you're both having the issue you might be AB... I'll see if I can replicate the adverts.

This is on the "main" AB - not the mobile version, right?
Question Author
nope, it's the only tab I have open and it's using Chrome not a mobile app
I keep getting that same thing on my android tablet.
OK thank you. Still trying to replicate it here.

Can you all let me know what browser you're using please?
I use Chrome.....am happy to say no nasty ads for about 24 hours...:-)
I'm making a further line of enquiry. It's very tricky to pin down.

Have you checked your extensions/plugins on chrome for anything unusual?
I wouldn't know what an extension/plugin is....

And again...I've not had any of those ads now for two days. :-))
Question Author
It's started doing it again...
Had it yesterday on Samsung tab and I was just using AB and not the mobile app. It's really irritating and the pop ups actually take you to completely different pages.
Question Author
the common denomnator this morning is the message "the page at ads.yahoo.com says download xxx now!" if that's any help

are you getting that china?
Question Author
although the message "the page at lovelinks.us has links that need updating" with a download button just froze the tablet completely
The lovelinks one is the one that takes me away from AB completely.
Question Author
the lovelinks thing takes you through to an app called mobogenie market in the apps playstore
