Convert bmp to jpg

Looking for free software download which also allows images to be saved (some downloads are just trials and don't allow you tosave)

Theres a free bit of software built in to windows called "Paint"
That will do the trick.
its in the Accessories tab on start menu.

If I were in your position, I would acess cnet.com, and use one software trial, untill it expires, then move onto the next software. There are at least 200 applications that have the ability to convert, save, and do many other things.

agree with butterban - simply use paint as you already have it !

no need to download anything else.

Look for an 'open source' program called 'The Gimp' - very good. Also Irfanview.
Serif usually have free downloads of mos of their programs eg PhotoPlus and DrawPlus.
Windows Picture and Fax viewer is with XP.
You open a pic with it (sometimes it says preview on the menu in windows).. anyway, once open, click on the floppy disk icon and it will save .. you can chose jpeg or bmp (bitmap)
No offence, but I'd avoid Eternity's advice about trial software. The Gimp and Irfanview are both free.

If the only thing that you want to do is save as a jpeg then you can obviously use Paint but if you need more, the 2 above give you more features. They're both a little ugly looking in terms of the GUI but if you're not paying...
