I am battling to get the hang of Windows 8, after being quite happy with XP and Outlook Express.

My latest problem is I can't see how to forward an e mail when using Windows Mail.

Can anyone help?

Can you not see an envelope icon with a blue arrow with the word "Forward" beneath it, along the top toolbar when you open Windows Live Mail? Also, make sure "Home" is selected from the tabs along the top.

There is no toolbar or tabs along the top
Strange, how are you accessing Windows Live Mail? I'm using Windows 8 and access it by clicking on the Windows Live Mail charm on the W8 screen.

I don't know if I am using Windows Live Mail, and have no idea what the W8 screen is.

I just click on Mail on the Start screen
Sorry Hopkirk, I meant to say the Windows 8 tiles screen. Yes, I can see the tile that just says "Mail" but do you have one that says "Windows Live Mail" in the next block of tiles? That's the one I use, but if I remember rightly, I did have to set up Windows Live Mail first.

No, I don't have a Windows Live Mail one, and if I right click to see all available apps, it isn't there either.

I'm sure there must be a way to forward e mails, as most things I have eventually found after lots of clicking, but this has so far defeated me.

I am not impressed with Microsoft's 'improvements'

Ah, stand down, I have found it.

If I click on 'respond' I get options of 'reply', 'reply all' and 'forward'.

Thanks for your help BraveJordy

I suppose I will like it once I am more familiar with how to use it.

I'm like my cat - I don't like change.
I'm guessing you don't have Windows Live Mail installed on your system. Thinking about it, Windows Live Mail was part of a Windows Essentials package I installed when I first got my computer. I must admit, I'm not a fan of Windows 8 either, give me my old Windows XP any day!

Here's a tutorial I found on YouTube that might help if you want to install Windows Live Mail. The good thing is I can now receive all my emails through Live Mail.

Sorry Hopkirk, didn't see your last post. Plus, not sure why the YouTube link didn't come through... Second attempt... Media URL: http://youtube/cCPchBp33vg

I think the old idea was to display all the possibilities yiou might want in lots of buttons on toolbars, though to the novice it was quite intimidating.

The new idea seems to be the opposite, have it as clean and uncluttered as possible, with very few options to click on. You then use these options to go through to what you want.

The only trouble is you could do with a college course to learn how to use it.
You should be using Windows Live Mail not the Mail program supplied. You can use Windows Live Mail in Windows 8 provided you turn on Net Framework 3.5 . Go to Control Panel open it and find Turn Windows Features on or off open that and scroll down to Net Frame work 3.5 and tick it go to ok and close control panel. You can then download Windows Live Mail and install it then you can forward your emails . Outlook Express is no longer supported Windows Live Mail has replaced it or Outlook .com
