Hola - Unwanted

For some reason I seem to be using Hola as my search engine (though I don't know where/how/why I got it). I use Chrome, and Google as my home page, and therefore want to get rid of Hola. I have tried using Settings and altering startup/appearance/search to Chrome and/or Google. Nothing, though, has changed. I have deleted any reference to Hola in Control Panel/Programs and Features, but every time I open Chrome, the home page is Hola, not Google Search. What has happened, why can't I get it right, and how do I now correct it please?

If you go onto your Chrome settings, click on 'settings' then click on "manage search engines".
Is hola listed there?

yes
close all tabs and windows, except this one, then click here:

https://www.google.co.uk/

Then go into settings (via the menu bars top right), On start up, Set pages and select Use current pages and click on OK
Okay. You should be able to remove it then by clicking on a cross at the right hand side I think. Does that get rid of it?
If so, clear your cache (optional perhaps but no harm done),log out then go back on and see if hola reappears

Current situation seems to be that when I open Chrome I get Google, but if I then open a new tab I'm presented with Hola. It WAS listed under 'manage search engines' but I'd already wiped that entry.
http://blog.anvisoft.com/news-threats/remove-hola-search-www-holasearch-com-homepage-uninstall-guide/ might be the way to do it.

http://malwaretips.com/blogs/hola-search-removal/ is another page giving instructions which seem, on a quick glance, to be more or less the same as the first link.
Don't bother with the first link which Huderon has given because the site is deemed to have a bad reputation.......According to WOT (Web of Trust.)

The second 'malwaretips' link should help to sort-out matters.
