Problems With Lap Top

had probs with google chrome so uninstalled it kept crashing etc are there any programs that could check if there is an embedded problem . running windows 7 with AVG securities

Have a look in Programs and Settings and see if there is anything unusual there.
It doesn't sound like a virus infection to me but set AVG to do a boot time scan.
Also run Malwarebytes: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
(Uncheck the "run free trial" box at the end of the installation)
If you've still go problems afterwards, come back with more info.

Is it only Chrome that is having problems or have you tried any other browsers?
