Sim Card Working In Unlocked Iphone

My daughter has lost her Blackberry phone which is tied to a Tesco contract, can I put the replacement SIM card in an unlocked iPhone and get the same usage?

The SIM card carries all your contract details, so if you put it into another phone, you'll be on the same phone number and the same useage as you were before.

Tesco won't mind what handset you use to purchase their service. It's all trade. The first call should pick up the change of handset and trigger a data text to set anything up that needs setting up on the new handset to use the Tesco service.
