What method did the thieving scum use to gain entry, leahbee ?.

It wasn't me guv, honest!
I also am now angry that an ABers has been subjected to such an outrageous crime.

My sympathy is with you and I can only suggest that, immediately you inform your Property Insurers along, perhaps, with the Police who may or may not be interested.( Can depend where you live in the UK )

Mmmmmm, me thinks that you protest your innocence a little bit to much, Baldric.
your household insurance should cover it
do you have your property in locked garages.outhouses on your house contents insurance? ring the cops and get a crime number anyway.
Yes leahbee, report it to the cops if at least to get a crime number for insurance claim purposes.

i think you will find there has been a spate of such break ins and they will have a bolo out with local markets and second hand shops.

Thanks for replying tonyav. They have forced the side door.
The next nearby car boot sale is the place to look.
Any way of fixing the side door so that it can't happen again, leahbee ?.
Whoever has it, hell roast them, as my old grandad would have said.
Have you tried looking on ebay?
Thieving scum - will neither work nor want!
Stuff happens maggiebee. We don't live in a perfect world and I a sure that leahbee has more to worry about than a thief who has pinched his/hers ladders and mower

Thank you all so much. You have certainly made me laugh. Thank goodness for AB.
I among sure about reporting it to claim on insurance,I am not sure if it will put the premiums up next time. I have never claimed before and I should'nt imagine that the goods were worth more than one hundred pounds. It has just made me feel so angry, why don't they just get a job and stop robbing pensioners? As my mother used to say to us she would chop their fingers off.:-)
Don't always think it's about the value of goods taken, "things" can be replaced. It's the thought of someone creeping about on your property.
Yes your right maggie, plus you have to replace what ever the thieving scum as taken.
Insurance claim or not, you should report it to the police. We were broken into three years ago and the police could not have been more helpful. Turned out they were investigating a spate of similar burglaries in the area. They had an officer at my door within 10 minutes and SOC out to me within the hour. They got fingerprints and eventually caught the culprit, who received a five year jail sentence for his exploits. Not a long time, I know - he may well be out by now - and I'll never get my stuff back but I do at least have the satisfaction of knowing he didn't get away with it.
