When I scroll on any site (have been on this before) and thought I fixed it (sorry wavy effect) - however, I went to Control Panel worked with the wheel - tried numbers from 1 to 100 - googles it said go into internet (Control Panel) look for smooth scroll which in the Internet icon I found it and there was a tick already on it. But I am still having a wavy effect when I scroll - anything more I can do cos it is a bit of a pain. Thanks

O My God an answer - an answer - God you answered my prayers - DJ Hawkes has even answered me - better than s x anytime.

Sorry DJ am rambling - that's okay when you get sorted give me a posting and I will try and tell you what it is happening. Good night hope you have a good night's sleep. the techie people have been razzling for quite some time I am afraid LOL
sometimes if there are too many active windows open it causes scrolling probs. I get it on music threads, with so many vids downloading.
Jerky or "wavy" scrolling on web pages often. indicates you've not got the correct graphics drivers for your computer installed. so goto the website for your computer manufacturer, find the support/driver download section for your model of computer, download the latest graphics drivers and install them.
Question Author
chuckfickens because I was on so much re the techy problems - sorta found out maye it was driver problems - I found my original installation disc in my room and inserted it - I found that I belong for eg I am with BT - to my memory of last night other bits and bobs - but because I am not technically minded was afraid of installing this disc and losing the lot. Is the driver on this disc and where would I find the DRIVER - don't forget this computer is now about 4 years old too.
As I said.... "the website for your computer manufacturer"

If you post the make and model number of the computer and what version of windows then somebody will undoubtedly find it for you.
Question Author
chuckfickens - put in cd drive - these numbers came up

F-417(D:) and another one D:/pdf/F_417_E.pdf

I am with Windows XP - anything help there
Question Author
looked at back of big hardware box and another number for you is

WEEE No. DE 19014628
The CD looks like it's for your monitor, and nothing to do with the computer as such. and the other number doesn't really help at all.

Does the computer not have a brand? or is it something from a local, independent shop?
Question Author
brand would be from a local here it is intel celeron D inside (these are the words in front of big hard box
Try this one, if you've got the built in graphics rather than a separate graphics card it should be the correct driver.

chuckfickens - had to run down and put some dinner on - downloaded that link but no change but I have to confess that when I was having the red words earlier in the week I deleted in the Control Panel win2k-xp.exe because I thought it connected to the red words also I thought it meant win £2,000 I am thinking the scrolling started after that. the win2-xp.exe was in the download link you gave me. but am still waving - download was extremely quick. I just clicked onto download and it seemed to be like 10 seconds - to me that was very short for a download.
win2k-xp is a reference to which versions of windows the file is suitable for (windows2000 and windowsXP)... and that file name is probably used by hundreds of different things.

You say you downloaded it, but have you actually run the file to install it? (go and find the file wherever you downloaded it to and double click on it).... just downloading it won't do anything.

and it's only a small file, so perfectly possible it would download in a few seconds.
Question Author
you are right chuck - I did not run it however, went into your link again and it came error - run time has run out - something like that. how will get your link up again. sorry for all this trouble
Question Author
