Woman finds cheap unknown mobile phone in hubby's inside pocket of suit. Never seen it before. Hubby has v expensive fone. Turns fone on - is in silent mode. All numbers/txts wiped - nothing in contacts.
Explanation no matter how daft?

He found it? I understand that naughty folk often use "disposable" phones then wipe them and throw them away. Why doesn't she ask him?

The only reason i asked on here, because I have made specific efforts to not ask personal stuff in last year is:

1. Ive only just found it half hr ago and now cant sleep
2. i didnt want to go wading in and say the wrong thing.

But I think I know deep down there is only one logical answer...

Don't see point of confronting him, yet. If he's up to no good, a plausible answer will trip off his tongue & leave you wondering.
He doesn't know that you know about this. Use that to your advantage.

Could the woman take the phone and see if their are any calls/texts today?

You can get the number by phoning yourself with the phone.

Or, if its Vodafone, dial *#100#

If the phone is completely blank, no call register, no texts, no saved numbers etc etc then I would be suspicious. If it was an emergency or work phone it would have stored numbers, how many people can remember a number in an emergency. If its a PAYT you could check how much credit is on it now then check again later to see how much has been used, chances are he will be calling out not receiving calls.
