dial-up problem

For the past 3 years I have used an 0845 number as a dial-up connection for my Windows laptop. As from 2 weeks ago all I can get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" messages. In a cafe with wi-fi (no connection problems there) I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and used it there, but at home the problem was the same: "Cannot find server"
At all times the connection icon when clicked , shows I an connected to the Internet. Other 0845 numbers make no difference. Any ideas, please?!

It is time you invested in a Broadband Connection, I do not know of anyone with "dial up". Most internet pages will not support "dial up" because it is as slow as treacle. I had to harp on at my wife for nearly 3 years to get Broadband and we have never looked back. Dial up is a thing of the past, it is time to move on with the times.
