Not sure whether this question has been asked before ( apologies if it has)
If I keep a spare cheap phone in the car for emergencies is it possible to have the same number as my main mobile phone ?

I don't think so, your mobile number depends on your SIM card, doesn't it?
No as Boxie says, its the SIM that has the number not the phone.

Thank you both for your answers. I think really I am wondering if a sim card can be cloned to act as an extra for a spare 'phone.

I think you will find that the only way you can get two sim cards with the same number is by registering as a Company and paying a massive monthly rental, cant remember at the moment which provider has this plan at the moment but is possible but at a cost.
