password problem

on our apple macbook pro, when i try and send an email using a document from word for example, ie i have clicked on mail recipient after send to …, the computer is saying i need to imput a password but it doesnt seem to be our usual one and we dont know what it relates to, the message comes up as:
The SMTP server “smtp.me.com” rejected the password for user “name deleted here”

Any ideas what its relating to, otherwise we cant send emails, grrr!?

It's the password for your mobileme email address...

If it's worked before and you've changed nothing then your best bet is to wait as they might have a problem their end.

MobileMe closed on the 30th of June but the addresses all still work, from the OP I assume they're using mail on the Mac, can't think why the password would be rejected or the "name deleted here" msg. Just tested sending via my MobileMe address and smtp server and it works ok.
