Is due it's annual service and MOT this month. Is it wise to go through the main dealer, where I bought the car, or go to a local garage. My thinking is, the main dealer has all the Vauxhall equipment to service it correctly. Where as a local garage does heaps of different cars. Since I bought this car (new) I have had no problems. So should I stick with where i bought it or go for the cheaper option. Having read through my Q I think I know the answer.

I use a local garage.

Evening ummm. Mic says hello.
I went to F1 Autocentre this time. Cannot rate them highly enough on price and service. Even gave me a mot for £20.
Frankly it doesn't take an awful lot of specialist equipment to service a corsa properly.

Main dealers charge a small fortune because they are playing off of people's insecurity
If there is a local garage who does a good job, it is worth building a relationship with them and getting recognised as a repeat customer.

Ask around with your neighbours.
Jeza, providing the Family run garage uses Genuine Vaux parts + VAT REG, there is no warrantee problems, but state this regards the parts when you have the job done, you pay high prices at the dealers due to their costs, just a tip! do not use K.F.?? I have no need to tell you who they are?
worth checking with a main dealer first, they sometimes have fixed price servicing....
With a 4 year old car I wouldn't use a main dealer. I used Check-a-Trade.com and found a very good garage highly recommended by its customers.
