Some audio book producing companies have now begun to digitally produce their books in mp3 format, whereby a 12-CD book is now available on one disc, but it needs a specific player and I would need to know what to look for when buying. Would it be an mp3 disc player or a digital disc player or what?...after all, it's still a CD shaped disc, but the specifics are necessary to buy the right thing. Ta Muchly for help gratefully received.

You just need a CD player that can play MP3s. Most modern ones can. It will tell you on the box (or on the features card, in the shop).

But you might instead consider getting an MP3 player, and purchasing your Audio Books as downloads from such companies as http://www.audible.co.uk.

You can also download free audio books from http://librivox.org/
