Help please.

When I opened my laptop up again at lunchtime, the cursor began to go crazy and uncontrollable. It seems that the whole of the desktop is "live" and anything it hovers over is opened up.

I've done a successful "system restore" but the same thing is still happening.

Can anyone help me to get it to stop please? It opened 19 blank Word documents in about 5 seconds and Google Earth so many times, the earth was coming and going!!

can you plug in a mouse until this is sorted?

Oh, I never thought of that but won't the same thing happen?
It might but you are in control of the mouse so good luck!

I tried that and the cursor wouldn't move. The screen is opening everything on it. is it a virus? My Norton says I'm secure.
You could try turning everything off, unplugging the router and taking the battery out of the back of the laptop.
Just let everything rest for a little while, reconnect everything and then switch back on.
When you do turn on again, you will have to reconnect the wireless network connection.
I dn't know if that will work but try it and see.
Most likely your problem is a stuck button or key
I had that rojash...............I'd had a book resting on the edge of the keypad.
I've found that, I work with the heel of my left hand accidentally leaning on the Control button...

I did what you suggested Tilly2 and it's worked!!! Not only that, but my icons on my desktop have become smaller and looks much better. I can see my wallpaper now.

Thanks very much. It just shows what hissy fits computers can throw and how a couple of hours on the naughty step really works.

Thanks again.
Good work, chrissa. I'm so glad that worked.
Oh, forgot to say, enjoy the footie.
