Gale howling here at 04.30 - it was so nice to be cosy in bed until my lazy neighbour's bin started bowling along.
Atlantic coast - you have to love it or leave it. If you have some time to spare, check out the link for some glorious photos:

Yes, the wind woke me.

Love 'storm chasing' pic...
Its kept me up ...not slept yet :0/
Yes, and its still very windy and pouring down and I had to cycle to work as usual. Wakes you up though !
Here on the north coast of Ireland, gale force winds have been blowing since ten o'clock last night with no sign of abating. Car alarms are going off, dogs barking and gates slamming all adding to the cacophony. One strange thing, my fence is slowly being blown to pieces, wood held together with 4" screws have been torn apart but a neighbours blue bin, sitting out totally isolated, awaiting collection, hasn't even moved.
Yep, it's a bit breezy here!

Still at least I didn't oversleep for first day back at work.
Wind began here about 7:00. Not too bad yet and still not raining.
its one helluva day here,a tad windy, the noise woke me up at 5.30am
Not too bad in sunny Manchester...
Blowing a hoolie here and the sun seems reluctant to get out of bed this morning.......
Wind and the rain battering against the window. I also cycled to work but with the wind behind me and the rain stopped it was a fast ride, but maybe not tonight!!!
Woke me a couple of times do I put earplugs in in the end, couldn't hear it after that. Bit scared of opening the curtains though!
Hi Anne and all, here on the Isle of Wight it is very windy and wet. The wind did not wake me, however it did its best to blow my dog and me from our feet during our routine walkies ! My hound like others I suspect has no regard for adverse weather and still wants ( needs ) to go out ! Lets hope everybody stays safe in these awful conditions.
I'm not going out today, even looking out of the open door was too much for me. I'm in Bristol by the way and at the moment it is blowing and pouring.
i think the building is falling down
Oh..that kind of wind...
its bin day here and I was woken by the recycling escaping down the road :/
Garage roof making a lot of noise - with good reason - one corner sheet had broken its fastening & the whole lot was threatening to unpeel itself in a very unhappy making way :+((

Temporary lashing should hold for a while, but it looks like a nervous morning watching for more disaster & then a boring job fixing it properly when the rain eases off a bit.

The joys of house ownership ... grrrr ....
I din't hear anything until I woke up around 7.30 and then I heard a bin crashing down the road.
Spectacular rain radar pictures at the moment ... you can zoom in to your area too using the slider (top left) ... give it a moment to load though (I think the site may be a bit busy today)

I hate the wind - to the point of being ill worrying about it. This is not helped by the fact that I have my bedroom in the attic.

But there is wind and my part of the country has a big red blob on top of it.
