What goes in this hole?

This is a stupid question I'm sure but while locating the memory card slot on my laptop I've discovered another hole currently containing a black plastic insert bit like a door with 2 square holes. what goes in there?

Same laptop here .. remember?
One on front you found is a pop-out for SD card (cam)
One on RH end (side) is a pop-out for 34mm Express Card (hardware upgrades) .. A replacement card design for PCMCIA expansion cards : )
