Hi roslyn

I have the same prob from these scammers last night but now I cant get on the internet on the infected computer. I have just been watching this on youtube

Please note: I dont know whether the info in the video is trustworthy etc, Im useless with computers.
I wouldn't know, but i suspect there are a few folk around here that could guide you through the required process without the need for paying an external company. Worth trying first anyway.
This worked for my friend yesterday: I trust these programs as I have used them before.

You must first download and run 'rkill'

Then download and run the latest version of the free 'malwarebytes' program.

This may take over 1 hr to do a full scan depending on how much is on your computer.

Full step-by-step instructions are on this page:

im always wary of any of these so called 'pc doctor/repair' type companys,i have heard so many stories where they couldnt sort it and then suggested the motherboard/memory/HD was damaged as a last resort.
I stopped someone throwing a perfectly good PC in a dustbin because of misleading advice, apparently the motherboard was burnt out & the hardrive faulty, a factory restore by pressing one of the F keys solved the problem !!!
Its a bit like repairing a car, word of mouth or recomendation from somebody.
Safe mode/download malware bytes/disable system restore/run malware bytes. when virus found and deleted logout then login as normal.

Had a few clients with this nasty pain in the backside 'virus' in the past few weeks. The above did the trick for them.
