I constantly receive information posted by people who are not part of my circle of friends. How can I block them?

Go into account, privacy settings and enter the names/emails of those you want to block. If you just don't wish to see an endless stream of posts by some of your FB friends, you can choose to hide the person as opposed to blocking them - this way they remain on your friend list but you can't see the latest episode of their farmville activities so to speak!

When you say you 'receive' information, do you mean messages, posted on your wall, or what?
Do you mean if you reply to a wall post, and someone else does, who you don't know, you get a notification of their reply?
