My phone company just offered me an upgrade to an iPhone with a very reasonable monthly line rental etc.

Before I take up their offer can anyone tell me if I can transfer all my music and music videos from my Sony Ericsson Vivaz and play them just as easily on an iphone? The music is just CDs I ripped to my computer then selected favourite tracks.

I think I heard somewhere that iphones are restricted & are only able to play music bought separately from iTunes - so I'd have to repurchase my entire collection! This can't be correct can it?
Thanks

You can transfer all your favourite tracks etc to your iPhone. The iPhone will play mp3, mp4 and AAC formats. Any cd's you have ripped in WMA (Windows Media Audio) will automatically be converted to AAC format by the iTunes browser when you trnasfer the tracks to your iPhone.

Hope that helps you out.
As Philtaz mentions it will play all your music but you will have to download iTunes and do everything through it. I have had an iPod for four years and an iPhone for just over a year and they are both brilliant.
