A bunch of people did buy from him today, I think he netted about a grand. Would you buy from him?

Looking at the seller`s individual feedbacks, almost every buyer registered with Ebay on 7/04/05 which would arouse my suspicions.

Sorry, should have said 7/03/05
lol tell what :-)
The only thing Ive noticed was this:' Everything I offer always comes with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: If you are not 100% completely satisfied with anything you purchase from me, please return it within 14 days of auction's end,' Well you could'nt Return it within 14 days, from end of auction because it would take 14 days from china to the uk!!?no ,okay give us a clue slim.
that the seller actually has no ipod and just wants to steal your money?

no wonder i don't have an ebay account .. i'm so gulliable!

my husband says it's my fluffy little brain ....

methinks not... looks a bot suss.
If you fancy one Kazza, he still has about 30 of them for sale at a starting price of 45 out of a total of nearly 80.This is a favourite scammer`s trick, build up a feedback on the cheap or from false Identities (see my previous answer) and then set up your scam of many expensive, popular or rare items for sale over such a short period of time that the negative feedbacks don`t have time to be posted before the auctions all end.

I've never seen anything like it on ebay. I was actually looking for an ipod myself.

-His 'feedbacks' all look suspect. They're almost all for 'trainers'. Like each feedback buyer basically only buys trainers! Some give feedback that suggests they were pleased that the item came so quickly from China...but the buyers were not only IN China, they received the item and left feedback within 2-3 days of auction end! Amazing! He's set up ALL the feedback himself. He set up an account, left it dormant for a year, then built up a bunch of feedback, then started trading.

-The thing that really amazed me was his use of image hosting as the icing on the cake. If you click his links for 'payment methods' etc, it takes you to an image that he has got ebay to host, which looks like a bunch of text (but it's really an image) which says that the safest method of payment is bank wire transfer. He must be making a fortune out of this, he'll take the money, then set up another account and do it all again. Be very afraid!

I`ve seen this several times. Twice with items that I was interested in buying. Reporting it to Ebay does get results but with 1 day listings that this scammer is offering, the money is sent before Ebay has time to investigate. Furthermore, he`s not offering the option of paying by Paypal which, for all it`s faults, does give a measure of protection to the buyer, particularly if paid through a credit card.Ebay do warn buyers not to pay via Western Union and other such credit transfers for good reason.
ok how did/do you know this is definatley a scam though? and how did you find it? Also if you make it your own policy when buying on eBay to only deal with users who accept paypal then your transaction is secured?
ok i see now, yes its a complate scam, i hope the winners figure it our b4 losing their money i was tempted to contact them individually and warn them but i dont have time! I have bought and sold about 250 items on eBay over the years and never had any major problems, just lucky i guess.

Morals

Always check the feedback
Always pay with paypal
I've just contacted the highest bidders on these items, and so far have convinced 2 of them to retract their bids.

there are 2 types of people, gullible people and non gullible people. Lots of gullible people will be tempted if the bargain seems good, they just don't know what question to ask themselves and what to check "would it be possible for someone to rip me off here, how can he sell them so cheaply". That's just life. And ebay can't monitor all sales. What really *****es me off though, is that I wrote to them about this guy 20 hours ago and they did nothing, let the sales all run (the guy is running under various other names). That's a lot of people losing a lot of money in a system that ebay sets up in a way that accomodates them.

Doesn't teach me anything except to lower my lowish opinion of ebay.

i see someone has set up an id called 'fraud watch' and he bids, wins, then leaves neg feedback straight away. I guess another way is to set up a sleeper account and then bid 1M per item. Now I think of it...
Been there, done that...........slimfandango.
I also reported him. As I said earlier, Ebay will do something but it will be too little, too late.
