Any ideas why my computer freezes? Been back to PCWorld who thought it was the graphics card which they re-installd. Whether online or not the picture will freeze and along with the mouse cursor. Have to turn it of and re-start to unfreeze it.

You will need to provide a lot more info than that to help with diagnoses (and there may be many)
How long do you leave it before turning off? I find ,sometimes, it will unfreeze itself after about 3 minutes.Annoying wait, but does save you losing what you are doing.
Mine does that if I work it too fast, by clicking on to other things when I`m browsing the internet. Perhaps you `re doing same.
I'm unsure it would be that easy to diagnose from a forum. I guess one of the first things I'd check would be whether things are getting hot; although that usually results in the power supply turning off. Download Speedfan and see if it shows any flame symbols. Might be worth ticking that possibility off the list anyway.

Has it started happening recently after you loaded something ?

Thanks all, for your contributions. Old Geezer - I had the computer wiped clean after multiple viruses and more memory added at the same time. So would have thought everything is perfect. No sign of anything getting hot but will try Speedfan. Thanks again. TC
Maybe worthwhile downloading a thorough memory testing app as well then. I used to use one called memtest34 IIRC. Or even just checking the memory boards are seated properly in the sockets.
