Well, the thing is that I use quite a lot Netflix for the movies and tv shows instant streaming service but I've been wondering lately if there would be some possibility to also download or save instant streaming movies or tv episodes from Netflix to computer.

Is this too far fetched or it's possible to download Netflix movie streams?

Hmm, let me think about that.

Haven't used Netflix in a while, maybe they came up with something new, but the last time I checked you only got dvd rentals and instant streaming movies and that's about it.

There was no option to let you download or save Netflix streaming movies to computer or anything like this.

Dunno, I am kind of a noob when it comes to this sorta things, so who knows, there might be a way to download movies or shows form Netflix that I didn't know about.
Noob or not have to agree with richie, the truth is that you'll most likely not succeed to download or save Netflix instant streaming movies or tv episodes or anything like this.

The problem is, as far as I recall, that Netflix movie streams have some sort of protection on them that would prevent you to download movies from Netflix just as simple as you can, for example, download streaming videos from some random internet streaming video site or something like this.

I know of no way you could download movies from Netflix subscription, sorry.
This is not youtube streaming dude, sure there are tons of streaming video downloaders but those work for sites like youtube and other streaming sites like this one.

Not gonna find any streaming video downloader to be able to catch and download instant streaming movies or tv episodes from Netflix streaming subscription, as far as I know.

Even if there were working Neflix Downloaders, pretty sure the protection would throw them off track eventually and prevent them to catch and download Netflix streaming movies in any way.
I don't know, have you tried the web for solutions on how to download and save streaming movies from Netflix subscription?

Seems to me you'll have better luck looking round the web. If others have asked themselves the same question, than I suppose someone must have come up with some solutions that would also work for you to capture and download movies or videos from the Netflix subscription you have.

Who knows, you might find a good way to capture download and save instant streaming movies and tv episodes from Netflix faster.
No that hard to look into some solutions to help you capture and download Netflix instant streaming movies, if you look for them in the right place of course.

Here are some ideas for how to download movies from Netflix, for example:

http://www.google.com...instant+netflix+films

Should be something useful there to let you capture and download movies from Netflix instant streaming subscription, I suppose.
What about this solution to download movies from Netflix:

Found it on youtube, actually if you just do a search on download Netflix movies there are a couple of videos round there with solutions on how it could be done.

Suppose it's better to have some video support, might make it easier for you to find a working way to capture and download streaming movies from Netflix subscription.

Well, thanks for trying to help me find some solutions to download Netflix streaming movies.

I know I can just use google and look at the solutions from there for how to download or save Netflix instant streaming movies, but I was also hoping for some ideas from someone who already did this and discovered some good way to download movies from Netflix.

More helpful than looking at a ton of ways to download Netflix movies and not knowing which ones to try out.

@thechaser

Thanks man for that youtube video tutorial on how to download movies from Netflix. Just looked at it now, unfortunately seems that that method to download streaming movies from Netflix is no longer working.

From what I understood from there, you could have downloaded Netflix movies by finding some url for download when they were using java; but since they switched to Silverlight you can no longer manage to look up the movie streaming url and download Netflix movies from it.

Darn, and I was just getting my hopes up.
Going he wrong way mate, the streams are protected and that prevents you to capture and download Netflix movies straight from them like that guy did in the youtube video tutorial on how to download movies from Netflix.

What you need to do to be able to save Netflix streaming movies is to find yourself a good screen recorder software and solve this the fast way. Think this one can handle the problem pretty good, for example:

http://audials.com/en...ies_from/netflix.html

Found it round the web, since you made me curious to see if it's still possible to save streaming Netflix videos in any way.

That Audials Netflix Recorder or whatever it is seems to be able to capture and record Netflix streaming videos and movies quite good, so it might be worth taking a closer look at it and see what it is able to do.

So, you think this Netflix downloader might do the trick for me?

Suppose I will try it, thanks for the tip. Hope it goes ok to capture and record Netflix watch instantly movies for me.

Anyhow seems like a better solution than trying all kinds of random screen recorder program to see if any of them can pick up and record movies from Netflix while they play or anything like this.
