SLOW START UP VISTA

My laptop takes an age to start up. Dell vostro dul core 3gb memory.
Is there any way I can reduce the programmes on start up? Or any other suggestions.
I'm not over technical!!

You could try soluto http://www.soluto.com/ which lets you see which programs are in the start-up and then gives advice on which to delay - plus makes it easy to do that.

Just seen this & used it myself, great thanks.
I've tried 'soluto' and it appeared to make no difference to 'start-up' but slowed-up 'shutdown'.

Consequently I decided to uninstall......It took windows about five minutes to prepare the take-out...and a few more minutes to un-install the programme.

Ron - you did open soluto after the re-start and looked at what it advised as being suitable for delay? You have to select what you want to delay, it doesn't happen automatically.
I did, but the time factors which I could save were relatively meaningless.
