Have i missed something? I dont see the option to change user names anymore. Was this a solution to the problem with people changing and closely duplicating other user names?

well I haven't tried it but if you go to "my profile, there is a panel with you user details in and you can just edit them can't you?

I seen this on the Site Rules a couple of days ago

"Any abuse of the AnswerBank�s registration procedures will not be tolerated. Any users attempting to acquire multiple user names will not be able to do so."

I assume it was in response to the recent "troubles."

It's a bit like trying to fight the 'war on terror' by physically trying to contain it. You just can't. The whole 'username' 'impersonator' saga came about because people were riling against the appalling indiscretion exercised by the last answerbank editor. And the new one seems to be following in a similar vein. Attempts to physically contain rebellion on this site will never work. They cannot stop people acquiring multiple user names.

The AB people should realise that a lot of users on this site are BRITISH. British people have a very long and hard-fought-for history of defending free speech. If they think they can run a 'public info exchange' and then just chop and cut without good reason or supplying a good reason, then they deserve what they get. People will just not tolerate it. Neither should they.

no wellhungjock why would i feel assaulted? I do not have and never have had the desire to change my username. i'm proud of the one I have because its my cats name. I just noticed that it says after creating an account you will not be able to change your user name. At least now unless someone has two email addresses, we will no longer have to deal with what we have seen in the recent past. Well done ed.
