My sister received an email which looks as if it was from me but it was really some sort of scam. It said:

"Hey, I wanted to tell you about this article I read that it's honestly
incredible,
http://qln4q.theconsu...Richards_Fortune.html
It's about this mom that makes close to $9k/month working from home and it
even shows you exactly how she does it, step by step.. So I decided to try
it out and results where unbelievable.. I put in about an hour to two hours
of work everyday and i'm making close to $5k/per month and I'm sure I could
be making more if I put in more effort.. Anyways, I just thought you would
like this, cause i loved it.. "

What should I do about this?

Thankyou.

It is a spam, your email address then sends to someoneone in your address book,I get them from time to time from people who are no longer in my address list, that just confirms they are spam messages.Put something in your heading that only you and your sister knows, then you will be able to delete if they are not genuine.

Thanks razza.

But I'm not very good at these things and I don't understand how it can send a message from my email account but I don't know about it, or how many or how often it does it.
One possibility is someone has guessed or stolen the password to your email account.
Change the password and the problem will go away.
Spammers often use other people's emails to send spam. It hasn't come from your email system, it just has your name on it. Email is probably the most insecure way of communication you can get.
