I have been using Firefox for some time as I prefer it to IE but for the past 2 days it keeps crashing. It started when I tried to log in to Facebook but has become almost impossible to use now with constant crashes.
I restored my computer to the day before this started but I just cannot log on to sites or switch tabs without it crashing. My favourites are all stored here and I am fed up sending crash reports. Can anyone help?!?

One possible course of action is:

Use IE (since you can't get FF to do it) to download MozBackup http://www.mozbackup.org/ and use that to create a backup of your Firefox settings.

Then, just to be absolutely sure, uninstall Firefox followed by downloading (again using IE) and re-installing it, .

FInally use MozBackup to restore your settings.

This should work but might not be the most elegant or simplest way of fixing things,
...and if currently you can get to your homepage in Firefox without it falling over then you can always backup or export your bookmarks, and restore or import them to a newly installed Firefox should doing what I put in my other posting just result in the same problems.

Thanks bibblebub I will try to backup then reinstall.
I suppose I should have asked whether you can still use IE, just to be sure it's a browser problem and not the internet connection?
dont forget to shut down the pc for the new installations to take effect
The only thing you need to do to backup is copy the Profile Folder. Then reinstall and swap profile folder after renaming for backed up one.
Error Console may hold some info too.
Better than Moz is FEBE backup. It will save to and reload from a file elsewhere on the system.
You shouldn't need to back anything up anyway. If you reinstall Firefox, without uninstalling it first, you should find that your problems are fixed and all of your bookmarks and settings are preserved.

Even if you uninstall Firefox first it doesn't delete your profile (unless you do so manually after uninstalling) so a fresh installation should still pick up most of your old settings.

unless you use Revo
