I had the same dilemma but now I've settled down in front of the telly they can wait till the morning.

I always do them within minutes of finishing our meal, and clear away for the morning.

I've locked Nan in the kitchen, and she's not allowed out until all the dishes are done...
Not even a difficult question, leave em till morning, then chuck em in the bin,
