Can't Search My History

HI I have windows XP & am having problems finding a site I visited a few days ago. I look on History and the drop down menu gives a choice of Date, Site, Most Visited and By Order Visited Today. As it was a few days ago I click on Date but it only gives me the sites I looked at Today and will not go further back than that. How do I key in the date i want? By the way, IE is set to keep history for 20 days, but I cannot get to it. I must be doing something silly here - missing something obvious - help
