Has anyone got this on a 4Gb Broadband connection ?
The reason for this question is that the advert mentions speeding up to a 2Gb connection
or a GPRS mobile phone ?
Is it any good ?

I've got this over ISDN and it's sh1te!
Half the time the pages don't arrive at all, or only half the page arrives - and then it boasts about how quickly it delivered it!.
Don't forget that it just uses a method of compressing HTML so it's not going to speed up any other part of your web experience. You can configure it to speed up delivery of images in pages, but it just does this by re-compressing them (so that the quality is lowered). I can't imagine it delivery any noticeable improvement if you already have broadband.

OnSpeed is not really going to be any good for broadband. It's designed for slower connections to get pages on screen quicker by downloading less info.
Even for a 2 meg broadband, I certainly wouldn't bother with it, or on ISDN. It's meant for dial-up, where I believe it was useful for general surfing. Now that everyone is moving to broadband, they're just trying to stick it on there too. It will speed up the loading of the page, but to be honest, a 500K connection is quite fast enough for surfing.
It might come in quite handy if you use your phone quite a bit for web pages.

Why should anyone need Onspeed when they have a 4Gig ?? connection..Come on SteveSxx...all these guys tried to help with your query.!! .Like last poster...I think.your comment responses are a bit "acidic" .Onspeed dates from the early days of 28kb/s and 56 kb/s dial up connection protocols when everyone was clamouring to squeeze every ounce of speed out of their connections.Can't honestly see it's place in todays marketplace and you won't find many people bothering with it on broadband. I've only got 15 years experience with the web and based on that I would say..Stick with your 4Gig ? BB connection and don't worry yourself about Onspeed !! Regards Ed....
