I've upgraded my internet explorer i think to 7 and I can't stand it!
I've got all these tool bars above with various search engines and I dont have any buttons at the top to take them off. I've no VIEW button to stop showing them all. Plus its slow at loading up.

Can you do a screen shot so I can have a look?

To get the View button, just press Alt.

Scrap Internet Explorer and give Mozilla Firefox a try. You can download it free.
Robert - I have used firefox for a long time and am a big fan.

But IE is an integral part of the Windows XP so it is important to keep it up to date.

And there are times when firefox just does not work - not firefox fault I know - so another browser must be used.

If there are problems with IE they should be resolved, not just ignored.

Sorry, Ethel. I abandoned Windows as a bad job and switched to a Mac (Firefox works on Windows, Linux and Mac systems) and so I didn't appreciate your need re IE.

FWIW, any problems I've had with Firefox I've resolved by using a different browser.

Good luck with it.

Hi Ethel
finding that view button has made a massive difference it was so slow loading before but works like a dream now thanks. Is there a way of keeping the view from disappearing.

Oh and by the way Ethel how the heck do i do a screen shot and send it to you i would need guidance on this one:)
You can get rid of IE7.Click Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Check the Show update box at the top of the dialog -> Scroll down and click Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview -> Click Remove. This will roll back to IE6.

For those who don't like the positioning on IE7 (no words above icons) here's the link to solve that.

ooops zim zam
Click alt to bring up the buttons.

View - toolbar - menubar

This should keep the menu bar permanently in view.
I don't understand how you have 'various search engines' on tool bars. One answer might be to open your favourite search engines and add them to 'favourites' (the green and yellow icon top left) and then access them from there.

It sounds as though you might have put them in 'favouites' and then moved them into the 'Links' folder which would make them appear separately on your (Links) tool bar.

To take it a step further, in Favourites you could create a new folder, to put the search engines in, and then move that folder into Links. That way you would have just the folder appear on your (Links) tool bar and be able to access its contents from there as you choose.

Robert - I'm puzzled. Surely you'd use Safari and / or firefox rather than IE?

Coldicote i'm not good at explaining thats all. I like to have a variety of search engines but not to see them everytime i use the browser I just needed to know how to hide them but couldn't find my VIEW BUTTON to stop showing them all. I just want to show the ones I want to use at that time.
Ethel, Sorry but I don't quite follow you. I do not use IE because I do not use a Windows system. I have a Mac computer and I use Firefox and Safari web browsers.
