Wrong link.
does seem the wrong time to be doing this.
no it isn't..
Oh right.
Over £33k sounds a lot but really it is small change. Communications is essential to the government, after all.
they spent 2.6 million on new media centre....
Sounds as though they are skimping on the communications at No 9 .. only £33k ?
The last job we did in Knightsbridge, which was a private house, they had spent over £100k on communications.
perhaps its the timing of it, alongside the refurbishment of the flat that could cost millions.
Yes an enormous amount of money
Breakdown of costs:

£1,848,695.12 for “main works”
£198,023.75 on “long lead items”
£33,394.63 on “broadband equipment”
It was begun last year. It is a Grade 1 listed building. To attempt to conflate the spend to nurses pay is lazy journalism by The Guardian.
it is, but its still bad timing, i don't think one can offer the NHS more money, but Boris and Carrie are looking to refurb their flat, perhaps that shouldn't be an option right now.
//£198,023.75 on “long lead items”//
sounds rather a lot for restraints for a jack russell cross
The coronavirus briefings were clunky, uncoordinated and generally gave a bad impression. There was obviously a need to get slicker and more professional.
apparently it was to do with how the White House do their briefings, and they perhaps want something similar.
I think that’s just Guardian ‘spin’, em.
Let's hope they have spent a few extra quid on a big red button that will terminate a link, one that can be pressed when journalists ask stupid questions after briefings.
i read the same zacs, from BBC news link...
Yes, but it was clearly just a journalistic comment to add a bit of spice to the post.
alva, if only they could get a button that would "graham norton" the asker!
