Printing From Pdf On My New Netbook!

Hi - can anyone assist me please?
Since I got my new Netbook (still Windows 7) I seem to have a slight problem in that I can print all letters from Word directly - but when the file is a PDF it will not print at all unless I first save the file to 'my docs' and then open the file again and THEN it prints ok.
This is not a major problem now I know how to solve it but is there some setting on my netbook I have not actioned?
